Japan - My experience so far

It's been 6 months living here in Japan and it has been an invaluable experience. I came here with my brother and we've been enjoying everything that Japan has to offer. Of course there have been adjustment periods and the company we work for is quite demanding, but we've both managed to make great friends and memories in our very Canadian-like host city, Sapporo.

We spent our first week in Tokyo, a fabulous party with more than a dozen other people from all over the world, where we trained for our teaching careers. We found a roof top party in central Tokyo early in the week and spent all night at another huge club called Club Asia. Many, many all night parties ensued, from Karaoke to clubs and pubs. See below for some photos!

After training in Tokyo, my brother and I flew up to Sapporo, on the island of Hokkaido. Sapporo has been very comfortable, and we feel lucky to have job placements here. The weather is similar to Toronto, Canada, and the area itself is about as old as Canada, so we call it Sapporonto, Hokkanada, ha!

There's lots of natural beautyin Hokkaido, and mountains to enjoy some of the world's best snowboarding. The view from the top of the mountain is really something else.

Other cities close to Sapporo offer a variety of things to do and see, like shrines, temples, and the best sea food in Japan!
